¿Pensás que no lo entiendo? El sueño imposible. No de parecer, sino de ser. Cociente cada segundo. Vigilante.

Al mismo tiempo, el abismo entre lo que sos para los demás y lo que sos para vos, el vértigo y el constante deseo de, al menos, ser expuesta, de ser analizada, diseccionada, quizás hasta aniquilada.

Cada palabra una mentira, cada gesto una falsedad, cada sonrisa una mueca.

¿Suicido? ¡Ah, no! Es horrible. Nunca harías algo así. Pero podés permanecer inmóvil y en silencio.

Al menos así no mentís. ¿Podés enclaustrarte, apartarte? Así no vas a tener que actuar papeles, no vas a tener que hacer gestos falsos.

Eso pensás.

Pero, ¿no ves? La realidad está en el camino, tu escondite no es impenetrable. La vida se te cola a través de todo. Y estás obligada a reaccionar. Nadie se pregunta si es real o falso, si sos de verdad o de mentira.


Esa pregunta es importante solo en el teatro. Y casi que ni siquiera ahí.

Te entiendo, Elisabeth.

Entiendo que estés en silencio, que estés inmóvil, que no tengas la voluntad puesta en este fantástico sistema.

Te entiendo y te admiro.

Creo que deberías mantener este rol hasta que se termine, hasta que deje de ser interesante. Después podés dejarlo. De la misma manera en la que dejaste, poco a poco, los otros.

Against Ideology?

Perhaps resisting ideology means attempting to do without binary distinctions and assessments. Rather than taking positions for or against broad categories—“student organizing,” “reformism,” “violence,” even “ideology”—we could see each of these as composed of conflicting currents and tendencies. In this view, the role of theory is not to endorse or condemn, but to study this nuanced interplay of forces in order to inform strategic action.

‘Yes, that’s so’, said Sam. ‘And we shouldn’t be here at all, if we’d known more about it before we started. But I suppose it’s often that way. The brave things in the old tales and songs, Mr. Frodo: adventures, as I used to call them. I used to think that they were things the wonderful folk of the stories went out and looked for, because they wanted them, because they were exciting and life was a bit dull, a kind of a sport, as you might say. But that’s not the way of it with the tales that really mattered, or the ones that stay in the mind. Folk seem to have been just landed in them, usually - their paths were laid that way, as you put it. But I expect they had lots of chances, like us, of turning back, only they didn’t. And if they had, we shouldn’t know, because they’d have been forgotten. We hear about those as just went on - and not all to a good end, mind you; at least not to what folk inside a story and not outside it call a good end. You know, coming home, and finding things all right, though not quite the same - like old Mr Bilbo. But those aren’t always the best tales to hear, though they may be the best tales to get landed in! I wonder what sort of a tale we’ve fallen into?’

"Piracy is a service problem"

In general, we think there is a fundamental misconception about piracy. Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem. For example, if a pirate offers a product anywhere in the world, 24 x 7, purchasable from the convenience of your personal computer, and the legal provider says the product is region-locked, will come to your country 3 months after the U.S. release, and can only be purchased at a brick and mortar store, then the pirate’s service is more valuable. Most DRM solutions diminish the value of the product by either directly restricting a customers use or by creating uncertainty.
